We got up so early that we decided to explore a bit and went down for a walk on the beach! It was so beautiful! We decided to walk each morning when we don’t have an early shift at the VC.
We were told that we should do our grocery shopping today, rather than Sat. Since it gets VERY busy on the weekends. There is a grocery store here in Laie called Foodland. It is incredibly expensive! So we try not to shop there unless we absolutely have to! ( went there when we forgot something at Walmart and Costco- cream of chicken soup- on SALE - 2 for $6.00 !!!)
So, we drove down to Mililani- close to Honolulu to shop at Walmart and Costco. It is only 30 miles, but it takes at least an hour! Today there was road construction so it took longer! They told us that by the time that you get your apt. Stuff and all your groceries, to plan on spending $1,000 that first trip ! They were not wrong! Whew! The good news was that gas at Costco was only $4.99 a gallon! That was a surprise! We always bring a cooler for the cold or frozen stuff so they will last on the hour-long trip home. Somehow we got it all stuffed in!
