In Primary here they teach the kids a new verse to In the Leafy Treetops. The kids all think it is a natural part of the song! They sing about a fruit called Breadfruit or Ulu. Breadfruit grows on trees. When it is still green it sort of tastes like artichoke. When it is ripe they use it like a potato. They make a lot of Ulu mash - which is like mashed potatoes.
So.. the song goes like this:
In the shady backyard the Ulu is falling
They get so ripe and drop
Plop, plop, plop, plop, plop, plop
In the shady backyard the Ulu is falling!
As you can imagine, the best loved parts of the song by the children are the PLOPS !
