Another wonderful event that we were able to be a part of came in April. When we served in the Montreal Canada mission in 2011 to 2013, we met a wonderful couple and Connie and Sheila Merpaw. Sheila was really society president, and her husband Connie, short for Conrad, was not a member. We became very close and constantly tried to teach Connie and convince him to be baptized. When we were ready to go home, We told Connie that when he decided he baptized wherever we were in the world we would come. Several years later she decided she wanted to be baptized, but the week after he made his decision he began to be very nice and wet downhill very quickly. He died in 2021. We were able to be at his funeral via zoom, because it was during Covid. In April 2022, Sheila calls and invited us to meet her and her family at the Jordan River Temple, because they were going to do Connie’s work in the temple. His baptism and confirmation- so we’re WERE there as we promised! It was such an emotional day and we felt honored to be able to be a part of it all.
