Friday, August 26, 2022- we celebrated 51 years !!!

 Since our actual anniversary was August 24, and we had to work at the Visitor’s Center, we waited until our P- Day on Friday and did our celebrating then! We decided to spend the afternoon in Haleiwa. It is a fun little town just south of Waimea. We had actually been here before, when Roger still had this area for his business. We came to eat at Haleiwa Joe’s and while we were sitting there overlooking the water, we could see on the far beach a lot of lights. When we ask our waiter about them, he said they were filming the TV show LOST there. After dinner we ended up going over to see if we could see any of the filming. They weren’t filming that night but the security guard took us around the set. 

So, we decided to eat at Haleiwa Joe’s again!  It was wonderful!

We got the Prime Rib - 22 OUNCES OF MEAT!!!! So we split it and it was still a lot! We split the salad, the mashed potatoes, the green beans and the prime rib!  It was so good! I think we sat in the exact same place, overlooking the water, that we had at least 10 years before!

Afterward, we walked around all the shops. Of course, I HAD to get some ornaments! This one looks like the sign they have on the road as you come into town:

They have a very old, iconic bridge there that we remembered and walked over again:

And we saw some Great Wall art!  See? We really ARE angels!!!
