Wed. March 15, 2023 - Pearl Harbor

I have seen Pearl Harbor now 4 times and it always makes me feel humbled.  It was fun to see it with the Sanders -  especially since Cameron has served in the military.

It is getting so hard to make reservations. We used to be able to just walk up to wait in a short line and see everything. Now you have to make reservation for everything here! But we managed to get reservations and even were able to get on the boat that takes you out to the Arizona memorial earlier than planned!

The Battleship Missouri is in the background- also a cool tour, but not for us today.

Tuesday, March 14, 2023 - Sanders come !!

Sanders got here late last night and mostly we just all went to bed. Everyone was so  tired!

We had a 7am temple appointment  so we had to get up early! Saw a great sunrise though….

It is always so great to be able to go to the temple with our kids!!

Then we had to go to work, but they went to a great little beach over by Sunset Beach that had a hike to a pillbox.

Then we met them for lunch and introduced them to Seven Brothers !!!

Then it was off to Pounders Beach….but surprise!!!!! No waves!  After having been there with all the other visitors, we were sure it would be some fun boogie boarding… but not today! I have never seen the water so calm!

So, we just enjoyed the beach!!!  Fun day!

Monday, March 13, 2023- Elder Cordon visit

Elder Valeri Cordon is a counselor in our Area Authority Presidency. He is from Guatemala and is very smart…has a Masters from MIT !

Today, he came to tour the mission, go to zone conferences, do some trainings, etc.
He has been the director of the LA Visitor’s Center, and has been on the committee for all the Christus statues presentations
He did a devotional for all the Senior couples tonight. Because the Sanders were getting in a little later, we were able to go to it!

We are in the 3rd row from the back on the far left side.

Friday, March 10, 2023- some gorgeous pictures !

Elder Handley, who works part-time at the PCC, and part-time in the office in charge of all the bikes and safety, is quite the photographer. He usually takes all of our missionary pictures, with drones, and regular cameras. Here are some of his recent beautiful pictures!

He is quite talented!

Wed. March 8 - helping the Sneddons

We have an office couple who are service missionaries here. They sold their home in Immigration Canyon, UT and bought a home here. They have been renovating it and finally got to move into it. We went to help them.  They live out on Laie Point. When you open the front door, you have this gorgeous view through the living room out to the back patio.

They have such a gorgeous view of the water. Amazing!

Jeff and Carol Crump, who were in our ward in Antioch, came to visit!

They surprised us at the Visitor’s Center. Then we went to lunch with them at Pounders the next day.Jeff went with us to church on Sunday, then we had both of them over for Sunday dinner, since they were staying here in Laie at the Marriott….and there is NOTHING open on Sunday here!
