Friday, March 31, 2023- Last day 😩

 We worked in the morning, while the Kreys enjoyed their last day here.  Then we joined them for dinner in one of our favorite places…….

Mason is a man after my own heart…got the HUGE Paniolo burger….

Others got the shrimp…

We are gonna miss you!!!!

Thursday, March 30, 2023- Visitors at the Visitor’s Center.

 The Kreys started the day with more Boogie Boarding and more shave ice….

Then they came to see us while we worked at the VC. It has been so fun to show our family what we do and some of the videos and temple model that we show the guests.

We played the narration that goes with the Christus Staue. 90 seconds where the Savior bears testimony of himself in the scriptures.

And, of course, our traditional shot in front of the Christus!  …and with the Shaka!!

They watched the Welcome  to Laie video in the Asian Theater and we were able to tell them about the faith of the people here in Laie!

And Maddi Johnson came over from BYUH to see Layne and family.

And, of course, anytime a camera comes out, the sisters want to be in some pics! Ha!

Wednesday, March 29, 2023 - Swap Meet

 This was our long day to work, so the Kreys went to the Aloha Bowl Swap Meet. Aaron got a drink in a coconut!

And, the day ended beautifully…again!

 

Tuesday, March 28- and early day…

 Another beautiful sunrise….

Then we headed for the temple. Temple appointments are kind of hard to get around here, so, Aaron, Layne, and. ason went to do endowments and Papa and I headed with Arie to the Baptistry. Such a great way to start the day!

Then we had to head for work, so the Kreys headed to Turtle Bay to snorkel…..and whatever!

They brought full-face snorkel masks and they worked great! We may have to try those!

Monday, March 27, 2023. - Graduation shots and Pearl Harbor

 Mason brought all of his graduation stuff here so he could take pictures for his announcement in Hawaii!!! We went over to the Visitor’s Center and took some great shots!

Then we took off for Pearl Harbor….

I guess that since we have been to Pearl Harbor so many times, I just did not take as many pictures this time! Plus, the Kreys were the last family to come, so Layne did most of the picture taking!  We had to head back to work after this, but they DID manage to squeeze in another Shave Ice trip!

I think it was a long day for Miss Arie, cuz she came home and was plumb tuckered out!

Sunday, March 26, 2023 - Church and Temple pics

 Today, Aaron wanted to wear the Sulu to church. He seemed to like wearing a sulu and flip flops more than his regular Sunday clothes!

Then, we like to go up to the temple doors and take some with the ocean in the background.

 ( we LOVED that they wore their BYUH ties we got everyone for Christmas!) Then we walked up behind the temple to show Arie the huge banyan tree back there.

Friday, March 24 & Saturday March 25, 2023 - Here come the Kreys!

 Spring break version 2.0.  Four days after the Sanders leave, the Kreys come.

They got in kind of late, so we just had dinner and talked a little and went to bed!

The next day, Saturday was PCC day! It was a long day for jet-lagged people, but they were troopers!

We watched several shows and then Aaron got picked to build a fire in Fiji.

And Aaron and Arie did the poi-poi balls

We had to leave them and go to work at the luau…but got to watch the workers take the pig out of the emmu (a style of cooking in the ground).

Yummmm…ready for all those Kailua pork dishes at the luaus! We met at the gateway buffet after our shift to eat dinner.  Then on to the Ha, Breath of Life show that night. Mason had seen Kap at the Samoan village and loved his art, so he bought one of his pictures outside the Pacific Theater before going in to the show. kap even autographed it for him.
